Of course, Hubert has to fully break from his chrysalis while I’m in class, unable to witness it. But I am not upset in the slightest! Hubert is finally a butterfly (which means the name of this blog will be changing as of today), and sooner than I had expected! I remember my prediction lastContinue reading “2/13/2020, Part 2!!”

If you look closely, you can see the design on Hubert’s wings through the chrysalis! He isn’t out of it yet, but he will be soon! I can feel it! So excited for his grand return!

Nothing has changed. Still a chrysalis. However, I did notice some shaking earlier before taking this picture. I think it’s almost time! Maybe he’ll be out by the time the goal date hits!

Hubert is still a chrysalis. The lid he rests on is still holding up. Nothing much has been going on with him. I wonder what exactly happens in that chrysalis of his. Perhaps I will research it later and find out.

Still a chrysalis. However, I could have sworn I saw him moving a bit before I went to bed last night. Maybe it’s almost time, and sooner than I predicted! We’ll see! Stay tuned!

No new changes as of yesterday. The lid is still holding up real well, even though the tape job is still questionable. It’s been a week by now, so my prediction is that next week, I will have to change the blog title from “Hubert the Caterpillar” to “Hubert the Butterfly”. Let’s hope I’m right!

Finally moved Hubert to a bigger cup! (Yes, I’m aware it’s something from prom, but I honestly never used it and probably never will except for this.) I noticed as I was moving him that the chrysalis IS, in fact, fully developed and that there is simply something hanging off of the chrysalis. It sortContinue reading “2/7/2020”

Still no movement. I understand this is what’s supposed to happen when metamorphosis occurs, but Hubert isn’t even completely transformed because there’s still a part of him left. I am a little concerned for him because of this fact. Still, I have high hopes for him, and I plan on getting him a bigger confinementContinue reading “2/6/2020”

Still in the same position that he has been for the past three days or so. I was a little worried that he might be dead, but I did see him shaking around a little bit. My guess is that he’s getting ready to change some more. I was also thinking he may be crampedContinue reading “2/5/2020”
